Rick Britton is a Virginia-based historian with a passion for illustrating maps. While still a teenager he got hooked on antique cartography—how the various types of lettering and terrain symbols call to mind a far distant era. This hobby evolved into a sideline and eventually a business. He has now been inking maps for publication for over a quarter century. Below you see portions of two of his maps.
